Below is a simple, tasty, healthy version of the classic family favourite, Spaghetti Bolognese:
Ingredients: Makes 4 portions
500g beef mince (between 5-12.5% fat)
2 cans chopped tomatoes
Handful Fresh basil
3 cloves garlic
1 x medium onion
Dried chilli powder
5ml olive oil
75g uncooked pasta of choice
Method: Finely chop onion and garlic
Heat oil in a non stick pan on low / medium heat
Lightly fry onion, garlic with salt and pepper and a very small amount of chilli powder until soft
Add the mince and fresh basil fry until lightly browned
Add chopped tomatoes cover lid and simmer until mince is soft, around 30 minutes
Boil pasta for 8 minutes in salted water
