Work on strength while on a fat loss phase as it’s importance

It’s been a while since I have had heavy deadlifts in my programme. Had a play around with them yesterday and worked up to an easy 180kg x 3. Looking to get this up to 200 x 3 over the next few weeks.

I’m dieting down just now from a fluffy 88kg to around 82kg over a 8 week period or so. Currently 4 weeks in and sitting at 83.7kg so well on track. I always like to work on strength while on a fat loss phase as it’s importance for retaining as much strength and muscle as possible while the fat drops down.

I know my body so well that fat loss for me is like turning a tap on and off, I know what to do and how to do it. Saying that, that does not mean it is easy. A few times the last few weeks I have been hangry (hungry / angry) because I have eaten all my food for the day and have just had to suck it up and get it done.

Fat loss is fairly simple and should never be a torturous or miserable process, however you will feel a bit hungry from time to time, but that’s ok!
