The 45 degree hyperextension has to be one of the most incorrectly performed exercises in the gym.
When using this piece of kit you should be looking to keep your back muscles switched off and let the hamstrings and glutes do the work.
You can see here that Aga’s back is relaxed and switched off and all of the movement is coming from her hips. Doing the exercise this way is going to help strengthen the glutes and hamstring which are very often weak and / or inactive and you will get much more benefit from the exercise.
